Fri, March 17, 2006 - 1:25 PMHi,
I'm from Brasil and will give you all my cousins names (by no means an exhaustive list of boys' names)
lots of double names
José Carlos (usually pronounced zé carlos)
Paulo Roberto (usually shortened to beto)
Luis Fernando (usually shortened to nando)
I'll probably think of a dozen more after I send this off to you, but this should get you started.
Fri, March 17, 2006 - 3:09 PMHere are the names of the men in my family ( I'm brazilian as well)
Hmm...Antônio, José, and Carlos are very popular names. They are old, classic names.
Unsu...Sat, March 18, 2006 - 9:00 AMHello Gael,
Other very popular names are Rodrigo, Tiago, Márcio, Rafael, Renato, Gabriel, Cristiano.
Some names we hear all the time like Fernando, João, etc. but there're names that get to be popular depending on the year. I was born in 1981 and all those I wrote are very popular to me now.
This year there's lots of babies called Francisco and Joaquim which are old names that are having they're come back.
Hope this helps!
